Together they’ve won BRITs and Academy Awards, but now One Direction and Jennifer Lawrence have another set of trophies to add to their collection after they cleaned up at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles last night.
The 1D lads managed to win not one, but two awards at the annual ceremony yesterday. The boy band – Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson – scored two highly coveted trophies, Favourite Music Group and Favourite Song.
They beat the likes of Maroon 5, OneRepublic, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Big Time Rush Band, making it their second time to win the Favourite Music group. They also took home the orange blimp (that’s what KCA trophy looks like by the way) for their hit single, Story of My Life.
This might cause a little tension with Harry’s ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, who was also nominated for her song, I Knew You Were Trouble, which was speculated to be about the cheeky West Midlander.
The lads weren’t there to collect their gong and neither was Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence who was also a big winner at the event, winning two trophies for her portrayal of Katniss Everdeen in the HG sequel, Catching Fire.
The 23-year-old beat Sandra Bullock and Mila Kunis in the Favourite Movie Actress category and as the Favourite Female Buttkicker, she even beat fellow Hunger Games actress Jena Malone, who stars as Johanna Mason. But they can both celebrate after the film won the Favourite Movie award.
Other big winners included Justin Timberlake, who took home the prize for Favourite Male Singer and Disney starlet Selena Gomez won the coveted Favourite Female Singer award.
